Still Following Idle Twitter user?

I am not a die-hard fan of Twitter, but it is sometimes great for staying updated on news and other sensational topics. Many Twitter users like me follow each and every follower, but many of them don’t even tweet daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. These people are just idle.

You want to stay updated, but Twitter has a limit for you:

  • 1,000 updates per day
  • 1,000 direct messages per day
  • 100 API requests per hour
  • Follow limit (not disclosed; some say 500/2000, etc.)

Touched the first three limits?

Just wait for a day/hour.

For the follow limit, you have only one way — to unfollow a few profiles. How? I just found Twitoria. It is nice to use with an easy UI. Basically, Twitoria finds friends who have not tweeted over a set period.

Twitoria

Twitoria is based on the Twitter API, so only 100 idle friends are shown. Also, private profiles are not visible with Twitoria. Although Twitoria has some limitations, it is a nice tool for Twitter users.
